For International Women’s day 2018 we were asked to create a campaign that not only celebrates Women, but calls for equality.
Once done, this content was launched tying into the theme: Press for Progress.
So, we created a public awareness campaign calling-out the top six online dictionary resources; for the use of outdated and offensive language in their definitions for the word WOMAN. With the help of Youtube star Akilah Hughes (@AkilahObviously), social media and a petition through change.org the message was clear; It’s time to redefine.
A day after the campaign launched Google caught wind and updated their definition of the word Woman to no-longer include “A Female Paid To Clean Someones House”
